Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle Designs
Ultra High Relief Gold Obverse - The design was modified slightly from Augustus Saint Gaudens' original. The Roman Numeral date was updated to "MMIX" for 2009, the number of stars was increased from 46 to 50 to represent the current number of states, and the border was widened.
Ultra High Relief Gold Reverse - From August Saint Gaudens' original design which has been called the most beautiful US coin in history. Two modifications were made to add the "In God We Trust" motto and a widen the border of the coin.
Ultra High Relief Gold Edge - Raised edge lettering is used on the edge of the coin. The motto "E Pluribus Unum" appears with the letters separated by stars.
