Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle Pricing

Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle Pricing

The price for the upcoming 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin was finally revealed yesterday. The revelation came as part of a notification from the US Mint regarding the pricing of all Gold and Platinum Numismatic Products.

In the past, the US Mint has set prices of numismatic products prior to their release. In the event that market prices for any precious metals contained in the coins experienced a significant price change, products were suspended and re-priced. The new policy will allow the US Mint to adjust prices as often as weekly, based on the average price of gold and certain established thresholds.

The price of the 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle will be determined based on the average price of gold for the week, and potentially adjusted each week. Based on the current price level of gold, the price of the coin would be $1,239.00. Based on the threshold prices established by the US Mint, this represents a mark up of 37.67% to 45.77% over the price of gold.

The US Mint may adjust prices each Thursday at 10:00 AM ET based on the average price of gold for the previous week. The pricing chart appears below.

$750 to $799.99 $1,139.99
